“Our continuing objective… to promote Georgian fine art in the United States to realize the potential to attract a broad, culturally diverse audience.” – Inna Elua, curator

Artistic movements and styles are often defined by the surrounding cultural, political, religious and social environments and Georgian art is no exception. Georgia, which became a sovereign state after gaining independence from Russia in 1917, boasts an illustrious and extensive history, dating back to antiquity. Over the centuries, Georgian paintings, drawings, sculptures and architecture were influenced by an ever transforming political climate, a practice observed by many Georgian artists to this day. In Art is proud to feature the works of several prominent Georgian artists.
